The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo |

Why has Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy been such a huge hit? What's the secret of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?
Vicar Simon Coupland looked at these questions and discussed the first (Swedish) film adaptation in a sermon in 2010. On our sermons page you can listen to or download that - and other film and book specials such as Inception, The Social Network, Atonement, Of Gods and Men, Saving Private Ryan, Bridget Jones' Diary, Harry Potter, The Shack, and many more! Just go to http://www.stpaulskingston.org.uk/home/sermons and choose the series "Film and book specials". |

The New Wine summer conference offers great worship, inspiring teaching, brilliant children’s and youth work, and time to relax in the Somerset countryside. We had the biggest group ever from St Paul's attending in summer 2011, and everyone had a great time. In 2012 New Wine LSE (for London and the South-East) runs from 21st to 27th July, and a number of St Paul's members have already booked their accommodation, including the Coupland family. You can book online at www.new-wine.org/, and there are discounts if you book before 2nd April 2012. |

Our mission partners Craig and Claudia Smith and their children Bethany and Leo have been in Kabale in Uganda with Crosslinks for three years now, and we were thrilled to see them and to catch up with their news in June 2011. They have returned to Uganda with exciting plans to develop their work: keep up with what they're doing through their latest newsletter at the back of church, or their illustrated blog: www.smithsinafrica.blogspot.com Why not send them a message of encouragement? |

Most of us don't like thinking about death, and so would prefer not to make a will until - well, as late as possible. But actually it’s a really good thing to do, even if we feel far too young to think about it! Because if we don’t and we die suddenly and unexpectedly, it can often create all sorts of problems and complications for other family members, especially if we’re married and/or have children. The Citizens Advice Bureau offer helpful advice: www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/family_parent/family/wills.htm
The debt we owe
As a church St Paul's is indebted to former members whose legacies enabled us to break even in recent years when otherwise we've have ended up with a deficit. Which raises the obvious question: would you consider leaving something to St Paul’s in your will? That way you invest in the church of the future, and bless the next generation of the St Paul’s family. There should be leaflets at the back of church with more information. |
