St Paul's Bible School

On Wednesday evenings in the spring term, a new venture for St Paul's: a chance to dig deeper into the Bible and understand the Old Testament better with Simon Coupland.

Jan 11th Original blessing - the theology of Genesis (to Revelation!)

Jan 25th Slavery to sonship - the theology of the exodus

Feb 8th The law of love - the theology of Exodus-Deuteronomy

Feb 22nd Nobody’s a nobody - the theology of the judges

Mar 14th Serving two masters - the theology of the kings

Mar 28th Threat and promise - the theology of the prophets

The evening will start with refreshments at 7:30pm (offers to serve those to Simon, please!) then there will be a mixture of teaching, questions and discussion, finishing at 9.30. All are welcome to one or to all - do put the dates in your diary now.  St Paul's night will take place as usual on the first Wednesday of the month, and there's an opportunity for home groups who want to come to the Bible School en masse to meet in the intervening weeks.

St. Paul's Family News
Have you made a will?

Most of us don't like thinking about death, and so would prefer not to make a will until - well, as late as possible. But actually it’s a really good thing to do, even if we feel far too young to think about it!  Because if we don’t and we die suddenly and unexpectedly, it can often create all sorts of problems and complications for other family members, especially if we’re married and/or have children.  The Citizens Advice Bureau offer helpful advice: www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/family_parent/family/wills.htm

The debt we owe

As a church St Paul's is indebted to former members whose legacies enabled us to break even in recent years when otherwise we've have ended up with a deficit.  Which raises the obvious question: would you consider leaving something to St Paul’s in your will? That way you invest in the church of the future, and bless the next generation of the St Paul’s family. There should be leaflets at the back of church with more information.
